Wiki Minor Surgery Modifier 25 for day after exam

Is it possible to add a -25 to the minor surgery that's done the day AFTER the exam?? Please anyone help me figure this out.

You wouldn't add -25 to any procedure. -25 is for the E&M only. You specify "minor procedure" so I assume you mean a 10 day global. Procedures with a 10 day global do not have any PRE-op services included. For a visit the day prior to a procedure with a 10 day global, neither the E&M nor the procedure would require a modifier. If it was the same day, AND the visit was separately identifiable, then -25 on E&M and -59 on procedure. If the procedure you are performing has a 90 day global, there is 1 pre-op day included. For a visit the day prior to a procedure with a 90 day global, the E&M would be payable with -57 provided the visit was the decision for surgery.
