Nurse Navigator

Good Morning,

can anyone advise if they have experience with CRNP's billing as nurse navigators? Everything I have read explains that this is not a reimbursable service. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, there is no reimbursement for nurse navigator services. If they provide Chronic Care Management services, you can bill for that, but typically that's not the same as what nurse navigators do.

I think I am in the same boat as you. I understand that each have their different roles but what is billable. I have been told previously by my cdi manager that they are able to bill for 99211 if they are educating the patient. I am still not comfortable with this statement especially since I am the coding educator and do not want to train the incorrect information.

I also see that there are chronic care management codes which we are not utilizing primarily from lack of knowledge. Please help me too!
