I am asking for feedback on the utilization of observation status in the birthing/maternity center. How often do you see this and for what reasons? I'm finding false labor, threatened miscarriage/abortion, accidents, etc. Do you have a policy or SOP that specifically addresses the criteria for observation vs inpatient?
I appreciate your help.
