Rockford Health Physicians, a division of MercyRockford Health System, is one of the largest multi-specialty clinics in northern IL & southern WI, located about an hour from the Chicago suburbs. We are seeking a full time Reimbursement Specialist to join our expanding team.
Job Description: Reviews and codes physician service patient encounters using ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding systems. Compiles and maintains data from audits. Reports finding to appropriate physicians, Manager, and other persons as designated. Adheres to official coding guidelines and acts as a resource to clinicians and support staff regarding coding principles and guidelines. Serves as key coding liaison for special coding and reimbursement projects across department. Assists in maintenance of HCPCS and ICD-10-CM files in practice management system and as liaison for this function to ancillary systems with interfaces into Clinic system. Educates providers and staff in coding and reimbursement regulations and billing guidelines.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
Work Experience: 3 years coding experience with extensive background and knowledge in ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS coding systems; Previous experience in physician's office with knowledge of modifiers, E & M coding, and billing procedures preferred; Prior experience in providing training preferred; Prior experience in developing training programs and assessment tools preferred.
License/Certification: CCS-P or CPC certification required; Registered Heatlh Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Nurse (RN) with physician practice coding experience credentials preferred.
