Hi all:

Is there a separate CPT for interpreting SOAPP questionnaire or is it included in the E&M code?

I am thinking it would fall under a generic review of records code, but I am stumped as pain management is new to me! Patient has private insurance, if it makes a difference.

Thank you in advance for your help!

It's just part of the process of performing the E&M. The findings of the questionaire should be documented to support medical necessity in the note. I would hesitate scoring the questionaire as the same as "Summary of Records" as this is typically generated by your own office and that is not the same intent/meaning.

But it certainly can be taking into account when trying to determine the level of risk overall in the Risk Table.

Thank you!

Thank you for your help! I figured I was on the right track considering it bundled, but help from another AAPC member is always appreciated! This is such a wonderful network!!!
