Good Morning!
My pain doctor attempted four times to perform a transforaminal epidural steroid injection for lumbar radiculopathy at the L-3-L-4. A 22- Gauge 3.5 needle was advanced until the tip was in the anterior-superior quadrant of the interverbral space. Injection of contrast failed to demonstrate spread of contrast solution centrally so it was then decided to proceed with an interlaminar epidural steroid injection.
The L3-L4 interlaminar space was identified and an 18-guage 3.5 inch needle was advanced until the epidural space was entered. This procedure was completed without issue. Can we bill the discontinued transforaminal epidural 64483-53 and also the completed interlaminar epidural steroid injection? 62323?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
