Cardiac Care Codes: Submitted with HCPCS Modifiers LC, LD, LM, RC or RI
Situation:
Palmetto GBA recently rejected claims for cardiac codes (CPT codes 92920-92944) submitted with modifiers LC, LD, LM, RC and RI. This impacted claims processed on and after January 1, 2013, with date of service on and after January 1, 2013.
We are updating the system to allow these 2013 codes with existing modifiers and will perform a mass adjustment on the claims that were rejected in the near future.
Impact to Providers:
There is no need for providers to resubmit these rejected claims as a mass adjustment will be performed to correct the previously submitted claims.
Status:
3/18/2013 - Mass adjustments for HCPCS modifiers LM and RC are pending.
3/11/2013 - Mass adjustments for HCPCS modifiers LC and LD were completed on March 11, 2013. The mass adjustment for HCPCS modifier RC is pending. The estimated mass adjustment completion date for HCPCS modifier LM is March 15, 2013. Please monitor this article for updates regarding the mass adjustment.
3/4/2013 - Mass adjustment pending. Please monitor this article for updates regarding the mass adjustment.
2/20/2013 - The system was updated on February 11, 2013, so future claims will pay accurately. The mass adjustments are pending so please monitor the article for future changes.
2/8/2013 – Mass adjustment pending, please monitor this article for updates regarding the mass adjustment.
