Can you tell me how to bill 99402 which is weight loss counseling. I billed it with a 25 modifier with my E/M code, but it was denied as non covered with Medicare. Can you tell me how to bill this code so it can get paid.

I don't believe weight loss counseling is a covered service. As such it would be patient responsibility. G0447 is a code for Medicare for obesity counseling and has some strict guidelines and diagnosis for its use. Go to MedLearn Matters article number MM7641 for detailed information
