Wiki Pre Op Laboratory

When coding a pre operative account with laboratory work should I being using V72.63 rather than or including V72.83...I am running into a conflict with my medical necessity passing the V72.63.
Any input would be appreciated. Thank You.

It will depend on the reason for the lab.. for instance if you are doing preop lab because the patient has been on coumadin then you would use V58.83 and V58.69. If these are screening then you would use a screening V code in additon to the V72.83.
