Does anyone have some input as to the billing guidelines if a patient has a 2nd echocardiograhy performed in doc's office to verify the findings in first echo done at another facility. Not sure if we could bill for this.
Echo's have no global no there's so set 'rules' on how often they can be billed; they should be billed based on medical necessity. Depending on the carrier you may encounter some resistance to pay if the billing is too frequent. Maybe you consider biling a limited echo (93308)? I don't think that would be a problem.
