Can someone tell me when the radiation oncologist bills for 77427 - weekly radiation therapy , if you would use V58.0 as primary and the cancer code as secondary?
Example: patient is here for radiation treatment for lung cancer. I would use
CPT 77427 .... with DX V58.0, 162.9
When I look in the ICD9 coding guidelines, it says to use v58.0 as primary when treating with radiation on a neoplasm...
However everything I pull up on Medicare or other websites don't even mention using the V58.0.
This is for the physician side, not the hospital.
Thanks
