I have a pt. that is in global for hardware removal for previous (healed malunion fx) of intertrochanteric fx.
Pt. now has new fx femoral neck (same hip).
Doc is doing a total hip due to poor previous malunion as well as deformity.
I am looking at 27132 (conversion)? Would you use this one even though pt has a new fx?
Also he is saying he is doing "tibial strut allograft femoral shaft reinforcement" he is doing this using cables across and around the femoral component for strength.
would you consider this included? what code could I charge for that? Would you just use the 27132 with a 22 mod?
