...However, there's no updated cpt codes for this procedure that includes "w/ contrast"--only w/o contrast: cpt 75557 & 75561--please assist--thank you...

Procedure: MR/CARDIO MORPH W CONTRAST--75553

MR examination of the heart was done. Black blood imaging was done using a double inversion recovery FSE T1-weighted sequence in the axial plane. This was followed by bright blood imaging using SSFP cine MR sequences in the axial, long axis and short axis planes through the heart. Gadollinium based contrast was administered intravenously and delayed gadolinium enhancement sequences were obtained in the short axis and four-chamber planes.

Overall the heart and cardiac chambers are normal in size. There is mild thickening of the myocardium. The free wall of the the right ventricle measures 8 mm in thickness on the black blood images. The interventricular septum measures 1.5 cm in thickness. No wall motion abnormalities are seen. The pericardium appears normal. There is no pericardial effusion. No abnormal delayed enhancement was seen after administration of contrast. There is no definite MR evidence of cardiac amyloidosis or myocardial scarring. The LV ejection fraction is 67%.

The ascending thoracic aorta is dilated measuring up to 4.5 cm in diameter. The aortic root measures up to 4.1 cm in diameter. A small amount of aortic regurgitaion is noted.

Impression: Dilated ascending aorta measuring up to 4.5 cm in diameter. Aortic root also measures up to 4.1 cm in diameter. A small amount of aortic regurgitation is noted.

Mild thickening of the myocardium.

No delayed enhancement to suggest cardiac amyloidosis or myocardial scarring.
