Hi there,

Hoping that I could get some feedback on a code. Would anyone have any or know of any documentation to support using this code after an initial visit for ortho trauma that is not a fracture, EX 836.0, 844.9, 840.9. Could it be used in subsequent office visits for follow up, rather than using the "8" code time and time again?

Yes the V54.89 is the correct choice. As far as documentation, the coding clinics have several issues on this as well as read the coding guidelines for the definition of after care and follow up
 
thank you. So, you think, based on your understanding, that this would be alright? I have been getting complaints from one of my ortho offices- just checking.
