How often is anyone using this dx when a biopsy turns up normal? So you don't have to look it up, it just means Laboratory Exam.

I have never used it for AP charges. I always code the signs and/or symptoms if no diagnosis has been established.

Thanks. I've got a cross-walk bood (don't buy it) and it lists V72.6 quite often and I was wondering why. I use this for gross exams of devices and such since the dx is usuall "gross exam only."

For gross exams of devices I would recommend using the mechanical complications codes(996.XX). If there was no mechanical complication then code the reason why it was removed.
