Our pathologists are getting Paps with HPV, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea screenings....
Is there a magic diagnosis code I should be using for 87491 and 87591? We've been using V7388 and V74.5 respectively...some insurances pay, some don't. One rep at an insurance company said there is a website which states what is covered under a well woman exam under the health reform act, but I can't find it (nor would she share).

Any help will be appreciated!:eek::

You can look out on the government websites for what services may be covered under a plan depending on the grandfather status of a plan and when the plan year was effective, however it isn't going to tell you how to bill. Sorry!

Here is the most commonly accessed website for mandated preventive services under PPACA.

How to bill for services mandated under PPACA are a mystery of the universe, kind of like the Bermuda Triangle.

:D
