Wiki When to bill for supplies in facility

How do I know when supplies are separately billable or when they are included in the procedure code? I'm working appeals and looking at facility billing often unlisted supply codes such as C1889, A4649, L8699 etc. Any assistance is appreciated!

We are working on the same thing. My understanding is that if an item is used as as an integral part of the procedure, then it is not separately billable. However, implants are supposed to be reported. I was going to post a question specifically for implants. If we do not get separate payment, then do we have to have a charge for these items? It will be good to see what others say.
