Does anyone know if there are guidelines regarding a visit which was scheduled as a comp. recheck. and the patient had a complaint unrelated to the injury? This particular office billed two 99213's, one to the workmans comp insurer and one to the patient's medical insurance. I am questioning whether this is allowed. And if so, I know that they both wouldn't qualify for a level 3.
