St. Joseph’s/Candler is currently accepting applications for an Ambulatory Procedure Coding Specialist/HIM in Savannah, Georgia.  The Ambulatory Procedure Coding Specialist/HIM assigns ICD-9, CPT, or HCPCS codes to complex outpatient encounters including: clinical, interventional, recurring, emergency room, same day surgery, and observation visit types for accurate capture of data elements according to regulatory guidelines and hospital rules and regulations. Abstracts other data elements as required.

A High School Diploma is required. An Associates is required. Prefer Health Information Technology degree but will accept Medical sciences or biology. 1 - 2 Years of hospital or clinical based coding experience is preferred. Will accept graduates from accredited AHIMA program with no experience. Professional Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA or CPC is required.


Special Requirement:


This is a remote position with opportunity to work onsite if desired.  Applicants must reside in Georgia or South Carolina.
