THE POSITION:
As
a part of our team of billing and claims specialists, you will perform all patient
billing activities as well as follow-up activities with patients and
third-party payers. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn.
The
Billing & Claim Specialist will research and verify all benefit and
information requirements to ensure eligibility of patients for benefits. They
will also scrub claims and post payments to patient accounts.
Additional Duties Include:
- Respond on a timely basis to inquiry calls from patients,
physicians, insurance companies, and other departments
- Work with payers to ensure timely payment; follow-up after
claim is processed to resolve discrepancies, minimize delays, and minimize
patient involvement
- Prepare non-medical invoices as requested and general office
tasks
WE REQUIRE:
- High
School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum
2 years of relevant medical claims processing, accounting, or accounts
receivable experience
- Strong
communications and interpersonal skills are essential; extremely good
telephone manners are necessary
- High
level of attention to detail and accuracy
WE PREFER:
- Associates
degree, coding certification, or equivalent experience with medical claims
processing
- Exhibits
a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior. Demonstrated ability
to handle confidential information in a professional, time sensitive
manner
