Job Description
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years minimum experience in
billing/collections for medical practice or hospital
- Current Certification in medical coding or
medical billing/collections
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, CMS-1500 forms,
CMS coding guidelines
- College degree or completion of post-high
school coursework
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED BY:
- Follow-up on unpaid claims with insurance
companies
- Collect unpaid co-insurance, deductibles
from patients
- Obtain/Verify insurance information
- Enter/Look-up billing information in Allscripts PM
- Scan and file paperwork in electronic filing
system
- Generate and send out patient statements
- Keep record of appeals deadlines
- Proficient using MS Word & MS Excel
