Summary

Designs and provides clinical workflow analysis and makes recommendations to create more efficient clinical workflow patterns within the department.  Serves as second level support for end user incidents. This position is responsible for oversight, coordination, and tasks related to the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Clinical Imaging applications.  These tasks include support, training, testing, documenting, maintaining, and improving the applications and associated processes.

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Computer Science preferred

 

Experience 

Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare information technology. Technical writing and technical training experience preferred.

Essential Functions 

  • Implement, support and maintain EMR application functions
  • Acquire and maintain complete knowledge of functional areas of supported EMR applications
  • Test and troubleshoot new modules, upgrades, and patches
  • Participate in workflow process redesign efforts
  • Function as primary support for all EMR application functions
  • Primary point of contact with EMR application vendors for support needs
  • Work collaboratively with Information Technology staff to support and maintain EMR related hardware and systems
  • Develop and maintain a master training plan for the EMR applications
  • Train supervisors and staff on proper use of EMR applications
  • Coordinate and lead training sessions with supervisors and end users
