Coding and Compliance Specialist

Maine Medical Partners is seeking a Coding and Compliance Specialist in South Portland. The position is responsible for providing chart
auditing, coding education and overseeing coding compliance for all physicians
and NPPs managed by Maine Medical Partners. S/he assists practice managers,
administrative office staff, physicians, non-physician practitioners and charge
entry staff with resolving coding questions and problems.
Qualifications
- ·
Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CCS or
CCS-P).
- ·
High school diploma or equivalent.
- ·
Minimum 3 years related experience.
- ·
Working knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding.
- ·
Knowledge of coding policies and billing
practices.
- ·
Ability to read, interpret medical charts and
perform a coding audit.
- ·
Excellent organizational skills with the ability
to accomplish multiple tasks.
- ·
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal
skills with the ability to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and on
the phone.
- ·
Proficient computer skills to include Excel,
Word, and PowerPoint.
- ·
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- ·
Ability to work independently and as a team
member with minimal direct supervision.
- ·
Ability to maintain a professional manner at all
times.
