SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides subject matter expertise in areas of
medical billing, coding, and healthcare compliance for family medicine
practices. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to
practicing members and to AAFP CPT advisors participating in the American
Medical Association CPT Editorial Panel meetings. The position is involved in
the development of resources for members and reviews, analyzes, and provides
comments on federal regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
plus more than six years of directly related work experience. Experience
working in a primary care practice preferred; ability to synthesize large
amounts of information into meaningful tools or processes; ability to handle a
wide array of responsibilities with flexibility and adaptability to move from
one complex task to another; analysis; presentations; report writing; working
knowledge of statistics and use of data in decision making; project management;
verbal communication; customer service; self-starter and team player.
AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS certification required.
