is seeking a Coding Auditor/Educator. Southern Maine Health Care
Physician Services employs multi- specialty physician practices located
throughout York County. The Physician Services Revenue Integrity department
provides the entire physician coding services for these provider based and
non-provider based practices in a central location. The Coding Auditor/Educator
will work with our coding team and physician practices to provide education,
training and support to the department as well as our physicians. This position
will perform tasks as required, paying attention to detail and accuracy. The
incumbent will conduct all interactions with patients and personnel in a
courteous, respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality. The incumbent
is required to conduct all job responsibilities consistent with Southern Maine
Health Care policies, procedures, and in compliance with all applicable laws or
mandates relating to patient care and business activities.
diploma or GED preferred. RHIT or Associate’s Degree in related health care
field is preferred. Two years of health information technical training with
knowledge and/or skills in coding with ICD-9-CM and CPT.
Certification from AAPC (CPC, Certified Professional Coder) or other
professional coding organization is required. Certification from AAPC (CPMA,
Certified Professional Medical Auditor) or any other auditing certification
Minimum of three
(3) years' experience in physician practice coding.
