The
Coding Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the professional coding
function within all practice locations in accordance with the coding guidelines
established by East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC). Will perform
in-house audits to ensure diagnostic and procedural codes accurately reflect
patient health status in accordance with standard CPT coding. Responsible for
coordination of EPIC charge review work queues as well as assisting with implementing
policies and procedures
Essential
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that standards
established by EBNHC relating to coding staff productivity and accuracy
and date-of-service to date-of-posting are consistently met.
- Promoting and facilitating
efficiency and effectiveness of coding related systems, including
documentation.
- Ensuring timely charge
capture of all services.
- Must remain compliant with
all CMS PACE Program Regulations and Standards
- Assisting with third party
follow-up.
- Assisting in implementation
of policies and procedures.
- Coordinating coder/provider
communication.
- Being involved in day-to-day
coding.
Qualifications
and Requirements:
- RAF
and HCC coding experience a preferred
- 2
years supervisory/leadership experience preferred
- Experience
interacting with physicians regarding coding guidelines
- Extensive
knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding across multiple medical specialties
- Competency
in navigating patient billing software and electronic medical records,
preferably Epic.
- Knowledge
of healthcare administrative processes such as reimbursement policies and
procedures, operations and billing regulations
- Extensive
knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
- Knowledge
of medical documentation requirements
