Position Summary

The Coding Education and Support Manager supervises the work of the coding department staff to ensure that charges are accurately posted to the patient accounts in a timely manner. Monitors work flow of the department, assists with tasks and reassigns duties as needed to ensure the department functions efficiently. Maintains current knowledge of coding conventions, guidelines, updates and regulations for government and third party billing to ensure that the coding department staff are compliant with regulatory guidelines and audit standards. Communicates billing or coding issues to the Director of Revenue Cycle and works collectively for resolution of problems.


Education (Including Licenses and Certifications): 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  Associates degree preferred.
  • Current certified coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA required.



  • 3-5 years of working in coding required.
  • Supervisory experience in a coding department preferred.
