Works under the supervision of the RMG Senior Director of Coding Compliance and Credentialing. This person will serve as a leader and role model for the coding team by displaying a positive patient-centered and solution-oriented approach and attitude. Responsibilities include managing timely coding and charge capture for Riverside Regional Medical Center providers. Monitoring systems integrity, coding, department operations, processes provider communications, staffing and the financial results of the department. Identifies training needs, ensures consistent information is shared and provides feedback and necessary training. Must be able to professionally and effectively represent Riverside Medical Center Group with other Riverside Health System Departments. Responsible for leading day-to-day operations of department by monitoring and analyzing dashboards. Manages department workload special projects; identifies issues and develops action plans to correct; reports trends to appropriate departments. Establishes productivity benchmarks by specialty and monitors staff productivity regarding timeliness and accuracy of tasks identifies issues and develops action plans to correct; and reports trends to appropriate departments. Provides day to day coaching and development of team members. Conducts regular chart audits on team members to ensure coding accuracy. Participates in the development and delivery of staff education training and orientation. Sets the example for the department as the expert in accurate thorough and effective work processes. Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills high attention to detail and an aptitude for learning. Ensures departmental adherence to policies and procedures provides on-going analysis of departmental practices and results recommends develops and implements process improvements as indicated. Responsible for staff schedules individual performance evaluations employee issues and administers disciplinary action when necessary. Monitors and reports technical issues at the coding hub. Performs other duties as required. This position oversee 18 team members, one third of which work remotely.
