This position entails the review of coding documents for accuracy and quality and support to the quarterly coder Quality Assurance audit process and monthly Quality Assurance audit process for offshore vendors. The function will assist with coding questions and provide coding guidance to the coding staff and offshore vendor.
Completes all quarterly Quality Assurance audits on a minimum of 70 coders to ensure that all coders maintain defined accuracy level for CPT/Mod/ICD-10 and manage any outliers as defined in the coding QA workbook. Provide education and training to the coder(s) on errors.
Completes all monthly Quality Assurance audits on offshore vendors to ensure that all vendors maintain defined accuracy level for CPT/Mod/ICD-10. Provide education and training to the vendors on errors.
Supports the sales team by analyzing and reviewing coding related documentation and complete due diligence reviews when assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
o High school diploma
o Certified Coder (CPC or equivalent)
Coding Experience –
o At least 3 years of surgical coding and auditing experience in a production coding environment
o 3 years experience with abstracting codes
o 3 years E/M coding experience
o 2 years of Profee Coding
o 2 years of Facility Coding
o 2 years of Multi-specialty Surgical Coding
Specialized Knowledge/Skills –
o Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
o Solid presentation skills
o Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
