Diagnostic and Procedure Coding

  • Translates diagnostic and procedural phrases utilized by healthcare providers into coded form
  • Has demonstrated a mastery of accurately coding all Level I  modalities, which include:
    • CT & CTA, DEXA, General Fluoroscopy, Mammography, MRI & MRA, Ultrasound, X-ray
  • Has demonstrated mastery of accurately all Level II modalities, services and special procedures, which include:
    • Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Evaluation and Management (E&M), Arthrograms, Aspirations, Biopsies, Sclerotherapy/Phlebectomy, Microthrombectomy, Myelograms, and Discograms
  • Performs accurate ICD-10, CPT & HCPCS coding for the special procedures; including but not limited to:
    • Angiograms, Epidurography, Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI), Facet Injections, Nerve Block Injections , Rhizotomy, Spinal Cord Stimulator, other spinal diagnostic & therapeutic injections including pain management (DTI), Vertebroplasty/Vertebral Augmentation, and Vascular Interventional Radiology services which include, but not limited to:
      • Circuit dialysis, Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS), Revascularizations, and Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
  • May support coding for additional modalities and procedures as assigned after training and proficiency has been proven.
  • Ensures that charges are accurately posted to patient accounts in a timely manner
  • Consistently meets or exceeds documented department productivity and quality metrics
