Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Compliance
Specialist PSJH to Providence Integrity Compliance Audit Services, RIS
Compliance in Everett, WA.
We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to provide compliance and
privacy program support to management across Providence St. Joseph
Health and its Affiliates in furtherance of our mission and to provide
an effective compliance program. A Compliance Specialist is expected to
possess mid-level skills in investigative and research techniques and
practices, while developing greater expertise in certain regulatory,
compliance and privacy topics. This position works with highly
sensitive information.
Responsibilities are diverse supporting Providence St. Joseph Health
and its affiliates, including hospitals, physician clinics, skilled
nursing facilities, health plan, medical foundations, educational
institutions, child care centers, in-home services, and Providence
Strategic Management Services (PSMS).
This position includes some overnight travel and routine inter-facility commuting.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform assigned investigations and compliance projects following
RIS practice standards while keeping management well apprised of
results and completion status.
Participate, under the direction of a senior or manager, on
large, complex, multi-location or system-wide projects or
investigations, including work being performed under the direction of
legal counsel.
Act as technical resource within RIS for select regional or PSMS
functions/activities; answer questions, analyzes data, conducts
research, conducts interviews and makes recommendations to address
compliance and privacy matters.
Analyze, under the direction of a senior or manager,
investigative results and draft recommendations that will improve
controls and mitigate risk to the organization.
Monitor assigned open recommendations working closely with client
management to assure action plans are completed and risk is mitigated
in a timely manner.
Provide input to educational and other program documentation.
Support regional and local compliance and privacy committees by
taking minutes, tracking action items and maintaining records of
committee activity.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, business administration,
accounting, finance, management information systems related fields of
study or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Driver License
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certification in Healthcare Compliance, Healthcare Privacy
Compliance, Healthcare Privacy & Security, Compliance & Ethics
Professional, CPA or Certified Internal Auditor.
Minimum of three(3) years’ progressive RIS internal audit,
information security or compliance/privacy experience replace with
Health Information Management, Accreditation Services, or Revenue Cycle
Services.
Compliance / privacy experience in a healthcare setting.
