The Director of Compliance and Audit will assist in the day-to-day operation of the Crystal Run Health Compliance Program which includes a multi-specialty physician practice, ACO, and ambulatory surgery center. Working under the Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer, the Director will participate in the annual risk assessment and work plan process, compliance investigations, and policy development as well as other compliance related activities. We are looking for an innovative, forward thinking individual to assist with the creation and deployment of compliance related training and with implementing a compliance auditing and monitoring plan designed to mitigate risk and support auditing and monitoring activities. This individual will be responsible for managing and assuring the quality of our internal auditing and monitoring framework. The Director of Compliance and Audit manages two certified coders focused on coding and documentation audits and education. Collaborates with stakeholders and operational leadership to ensure the key elements of an effective compliance program (e.g., ongoing monitoring activities) are operationalized within clinical and operational departments. Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.


Assist with the planning and execution of the Compliance Department’s auditing and monitoring program. • Develop and manage the annual Audit and Monitoring Work Plan • Oversee all coding and documentation audits and ensure effective reporting • Utilize business intelligence reports to prepare and execute auditing and monitoring operations • Develop education initiatives related to changes in coding rules or identified areas of risk • Assist with the creation of policies and procedures to support the Compliance Program • Manage compliance investigations, as necessary, and ensure documentation is complete and follows established standards. • Assist in HIPAA privacy investigations to ensure timely responses and required documentation is maintained. • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills. • Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem solving capabilities and the ability to build strong professional relationships across all departments. • Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimal daily instruction.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor degree in business, health care administration or related field, required• Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Compliance or other relate field, preferred • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), required • Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) or other reputable equivalent, preferred • Certified Health Care Compliance (CHC) preferred • 5 years minimum experience in management and coding/compliance • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance issues related to medical coding and documentation • Experience managing internal audit activities
