ENT and Allergy Associates/Quality Medical Management Services, New York & New Jersey's premier ENT and Allergy medical practice, is seeking Director of Regulatory Affairs.
Reports to: Chief Legal Officer
Administrative Liaison to Medical Management Committee
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of the
compliance program
- Report on a regular basis to the CEO, Board of Trustees,
and Medical Management Committee Chair on the program status
- Periodically revise the program in light of
changes in the practice’s needs and in the law and policies and procedures of
Government and private payer health plans
- Ensure employees have received, read and
understood the code of conduct
- Develop, coordinate, participate in multifaceted
educational and training programs that focus on elements of compliance and seek
to ensure that all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of,
comply with, pertinent Federal and State standards.
- Coordinate personnel issues with the human
resources department to ensure that employees do not appear in List of Excluded
Individuals/Entities and the General Services Administration list of disbarred contractors
- Coordinate and conduct internal compliance
review and monitoring activities, including annual or periodic reviews of
departments
- Independently investigate and act on matters
related to compliance, including the flexibility to design and coordinate
internal investigations and any resulting corrective actions with all
departments
- Develop policies and programs that encourage
managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties
without fee of retaliation
- Provide administrative support for and
participate on Medical Management Committee
- Provide coding advisement for clinical and
billing staff on a regular basis
- Provide compliance program in-service for all
new physicians and perform pre-employment/merger chart reviews as requested
- Coordinate, implement and review all OSHA
compliance education and documentation requirements practice wide
- Serve as practice Privacy Officer to ensure
compliance with HIPAA Privacy Regulations
- Interpret all related regulatory guidance (e.g.
Federal Register) and work with other senior management to implement policies
and procedures to ensure practice-wide compliance
EHR Implementation Project
Leader
- Management of EHR Implementation Team to ensure
successful implementation and adherence to timeline
- Assist and advise on all EHR customization
decisions to ensure compliance standards are met.
- Participate on EHR Committee and work closely
with EHR Committee Chair and key team members on continuous quality improvement
efforts of the EHR system
- Work with EHR Team and Senior Management to
coordinate efforts for system and template upgrades and ensure overall
comprehensive testing of the EHR
OASIS and Medical Malpractice Claims Administration
- Maintain a database and files of all current
OASIS and non-OASIS medical malpractice claims, alerts and occurrences
- Provide administrative support for OASIS SAC
including drafting correspondence to insureds as well as outside entities
- Coordinate and oversee Office Risk Assessments
- Provide advisement to physicians and other
clinical staff regarding occurrences
- Communicate with third party administrator (HIC)
and OASIS SAC on all current OASIS claims to ensure timely reporting.
- Provide written responses in a timely manner to
all written patients complaints to attempt to diffuse or minimize the risk of a
possible medical malpractice allegation
- Account Manager for Section 111 CMS Coordination
Of Benefits Secure Website (COBSW) and communicate with our Authorized
Representative at HIC for timely reporting
- Attend OASIS RRG business meetings
- Assist and develop risk management educational
programs
- Draft and implement risk management related
policies and procedures and ensure compliance
