Inpatient Coder/CDI Specialist

Inpatient/Long Term Care/Outpatient records to ensure appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS
codes are accurately assigned by coding staff.
trends and opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation.
with coding professionals to fully support the needs of clinical code
assignment, and communicating proficiently with coding team to resolve
co-morbidities and complications, as well as documents appropriately.
Querying medical staff and other clinical
caregivers as necessary to obtain accurate and complete documentation.
potential quality, severity of illness, risk of mortality, hospital/physician
profiling, and reimbursement issues or missing documentation.
with the coding team as documentation issues are identified through the coding
process for discussion with clinical staff.
coding support to Inpatient/Out-Patient Coders when required.
other related functions as necessary.
School Diploma or equivalent. College preferred.
Credential from AHIMA/AAPC (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) as Certified Documentation
years of inpatient medical coding experience
ICD-10 experience and familiarity with 3M systems
and understanding of official physician E&M guidelines and documentation
