Atlantic Medical Group's Coding and Compliance Department is currently seeking an Internal Coding Auditor with ortho experience. This position reports to the Manager of Coding/Compliance and Director of Coding and Compliance


  • Maintain the integrity of the documentation and coding of the Atlantic Health System record
  • Perform in-depth work flow assessments of all clinicians affiliated with Atlantic Medical Group and advising and educating the providers of said findings in order to achieve desired outcomes and compliance with Atlantic Health System policies, procedures, and standards 
  • Perform coding quality audits of all records (outpatient, inpatient, procedures, testing) to assure appropriateness and accurate code assignments in accordance with Center of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) guidelines and provide ongoing feedback and analysis of the education needs for the providers and staff
  • Responsible for providing assistance with coding inquiries from providers, charge posters, billing staff, etc.


  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum one year ortho coding experience and CPC (member AACP) required
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding, and compliance
  • Ability to analyze and identify opportunities in documentation improvement
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and departmental information
  • Knowledge of medical terminologyCPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codingand Medicare and Medicaid regulations
