The ideal candidate for this remote position will have
extensive coding experience in hospital Inpatient and Outpatient services. This is a full-time, home-based corporate
position that will require travel on average of two to four trips per year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and
implement a detailed Internal audit program for the remote coding team.
• Training
and development of remote coding team members based on audit results to expand
coding expertise
• Assist with
external coding audits to ensure coder and facility corrections are made.
• Assist with
coding as needed
• Revise and
update coding policies and procedures in collaboration with department Director
• Performance
of other tasks as assigned by the department Director
Experience and Education Requirements:
• Minimum of
3 years of coding experience, prefer
Inpatient. Outpatient surgery and ASC coding experience
• Prefer 3
years coding audit experience
• Prefer
Associates or Bachelor’s degree
• At least
one or more of the following coding credentials is required:
- RHIA –
Registered Health Information Administrator
- RHIT –
Registered Health Information Technician
- CCS –
Certified Coding Specialist
- CPMA –
Certified Professional Medical Auditor will be considered based on experience
- CPC-
Certified Professional Coder
- COC-
Certified Outpatient Coder
• Prefer CCS
coding Credential
• Advanced regulatory
knowledge of coding, compliance and billing
• Strong
computer skills
- Microsoft
Office, especially MS Excel
- Meditech
and/or HPF, HST, Nextgen experience is preferred but not required
• Strong
verbal and written communication skills
