Manager, Educational Content Development

** This role is fully remote.


The Manager, Educational Content Development is responsible for designing and developing educational content for online learning-management systems. This includes providing training and course material for physicians, auditors and coding professionals. The candidate will have extensive experience with auditing physician and hospital coding, billing, documentation, and practice management.  


  • Design and develop educational content specific to providers and coding professionals, following both industry and regulatory standards for physician practice and hospital settings. The development style will lead to successful adoption and knowledge transfer in an online environment.
  • Leverage expertise in the following areas: auditing both clinical and technical components of physician and hospital coding, denial management, billing, and practice management.
  • Consistently implement the unique approaches required to educate physicians and coding professionals.
  • Transfer knowledge in areas of expertise to content development for topics such as clinical documentation improvement, coding (e.g., E/M, profee, CPT, ICD-10-CM-PCS, HCC), physician office management, ambulatory revenue cycle, MACRA, quality programs, and physician billing, facility documentation, coding, and billing.
  • Proficiency in Medicare guidelines and established payer protocols.
  • Create custom content for delivery in an onsite setting.
  • Exhibit strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ensure the quality of educational content by reviewing and editing content developed by others.
  • Conduct remote webinars and/or on-site educational sessions for health care staff as needed.
  • Construct thought-leadership content and present at various external speaking engagements.
  • Assist with keeping teams (e.g., sales, client success) informed of new content offerings and share bits of information with them to help solidify the solutions’ ROI for clients.
  • Handle client calls for which guidance is needed in areas of expertise related to current content available and provide recommendations regarding what and how to consume.
  • Supports nThrive’s Compliance Program by adhering to policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and other laws applicable to nThrive’s business practices. This includes: becoming familiar with nThrive’s Code of Ethics, attending training as required, notifying management or nThrive’s Helpline when there is a compliance concern or incident, HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information, and demonstrable awareness of confidentiality obligations.


  • 5+ years of coding experience.
  • 5+ years of health care management experience.
  • 2+ years of auditing.
  • 2+ years of educational courseware-/curriculum-development experience. 
  • Two or more of the following certifications: CPC, COC, CPMA, CPC-I, CCS, CCS-, CPB, CPPM, and/or CRC.
  • Extensive experience in developing and presenting one-on-one and group education for providers and coding professionals.
  • Strong background in coding (e.g., E/M, profee, CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCC), physician office management, ambulatory revenue cycle, MACRA, quality programs, and physician billing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to physicians and coding.
  • Superior oral and written skills, with an aptitude for providing educational content tempered with experience.
  • Willingness to work as a team in the areas of thought leadership, curricula design, and media applications.
  • Ability to professionally conduct remote webinars and/or on-site educational sessions acting on behalf of nThrive.
  • Extensive experience in conducting office management activities successfully for a physician practice.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Skills

  • College Degree.
  • Registered nurse (RN).
  • Clinical experience.
  • 4+ years in clinical auditing.
  • 4+ years in bill audits.
