The Medical Billing Clerk is responsible for the daily monitoring of Accounts Receivable recovery. This candidate should possess the skills and abilities to create claims, create reports and submit claims. The Medical Billing Clerk will also be responsible for accurate and timely billing of electronic and hardcopy health claims.

• Answer insurance questions
• Work patient accounts
• Maintain the Insurance and Coding Cheat Sheets
• Assist in typing and updating procedures for the departments
• Work the Clearinghouse rejections
• Carry out special projects as assigned and other duties as assigned
• Denial work log adjustments
• Review and approve payer and patient refund requests
• Other adjustments and audits as assigned (prompt pay, admin, work comp, etc.)
• Responsible for the assigned payer AR
• Assist with other duties as assigned

• High school diploma with four years of accounts receivable/insurance experience OR*
• Associates Degree in Business or Insurance with two years of medical billing and/or insurance experience*
• Knowledge of medical records and practice management computer systems (E Clinical Works experience preferred)
