Hiring:  Medical Coding Analyst, Full time - New Port Richey, FL

Mobile Physician Services is a medical house call practice. Our providers visit the patients in their home, whether it be a private home, assisted living facility or an independent living facility.

As the Medical Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for reading and analyzing  patient records, determining the correct codes for the patient records, and for the tracking and timely submission of professional medical claims for insurance reimbursement. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.

This is a Full Time Medical Coding Analyst position in our main office. M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm                                                                                   

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing audits of assigned accounts before submitting claims to ensure accuracy and decrease denials from the payers as needed.

·         Verifying documentation that supports the codes billed 

·         Educating providers on coding changes or requirements

·         Assigning and sequencing all codes for services rendered

·         Contacting physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients with regard to coding procedure

·         Extracting relevant information from patient records. Coordinating with physicians and other parties to clarify information

·         Assigning CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM

·         Advising and training providers and staff on medical coding

  • Maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and data safekeeping
  • Effectively being able to communicate answers to patient billing questions

·         Upholding a healthy work environment by establishing and following company standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

·         Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations

·         Ability to work effectively with patients, co-workers, physician staff and leadership team

Requirements:

·         A minimum of five years’ experience as a medical biller and coder

·         Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent

·         Maintain Coding Certificate from AAPC and attends in-services training as required

·         Knowledge and experience with CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 coding

·         Capability to keep up to date with Medicare guidelines and other Medicare insurance replacements

·         Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional and customer focused

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, vendors and the community

·         Proficient, with a strong attention to detail and sense of security, when managing patient information and electronic medical records

·         Skilled in basic office computer skills, including Windows and MS Office

·         Prior experience with eClinicalWorks preferred, but not a requirement

·         Exceptional organization and time management skills

·         Ability to accurately meet all assigned deadlines
