Qualified candidate will review medical record documentation and code physician services utilizing current ICD-10 and CPT classifications systems. Must have excellent attention to detail, strong computer skills, and experience working with physicians; must be able to work independently and effectively to meet work quota. Will follow up on issues or trends found within the documentation of a particular physician for evaluation and refer to Auditor as necessary. Prior Military Health System experience and experience working in CHCS/AHLTA/CCE preferred.
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 2 years work experience in coding; must have experience with E&M.
CPC, COC, CIC, CCS-P, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification is required.
Must be able to code minimum 120 outpatient encounters at minimum 97% accuracy daily.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently and correctly.
Must be able to satisfy the eligibility requirements for obtaining a government issued security clearance.
Physical and proof of immunizations as well as TB testing and flu shots required.
