Candidate can work at
Groton (1 Wahoo Ave, Groton CT,
06349) or Newport (43 Smith Rd., Bldg. 23,
Qualified candidate will review medical record documentation and
code physician services utilizing current ICD-10 and CPT
classifications systems. Must have excellent attention to detail,
strong computer skills, and experience working with physicians;
must be able to work independently and effectively to meet work
quota. Will follow up on issues or trends found within the
documentation of a particular physician for evaluation and refer to
Auditor as necessary. Prior Military Health System experience and
experience working in CHCS/AHLTA/CCE preferred.
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 2 years work
experience in coding; must have experience with E&M.
CPC, COC, CIC, CCS-P, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification is
Must be able to code minimum 120 outpatient encounters at
minimum 97% accuracy daily.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read,
understand, speak, and write English fluently and correctly.
Must be able to satisfy the eligibility requirements for
obtaining a government issued security clearance.
Physical and proof of immunizations as well as TB testing and
flu shots required.
