High volume radiology group seeking a certified professional
coder, preferably with diagnostic and interventional radiology coding experience.
The individual will be responsible for correctly coding healthcare claims in
order to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies and government healthcare
programs, such as Medicare. Certification through a governing body, such as
AAPC, for medical coding is required. This is a full-time, remote position.
Essential Job Functions:
Primary responsibility will be to code
interventional radiology procedures and the professional component for all
imaging modalities.
Provide education and training to physicians,
other providers, and teammates on coding and clinical documentation.
Reviewing and correcting coding related denials.
Recognizing reoccurring issues and/or denials
and communicating findings with management.
Education and Training Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Professional Coder Certification is required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical coding
is required.
Experience in interventional and diagnostic
coding is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Must possess excellent time management skills.
Attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work in a self-directed,
self-motivated manner.
Ability to think logically and analyze data.
Technical knowledge of medical billing and
coding software.
Technical knowledge of medical terminology and
medical insurance codes
