Ohio
Gastroenterology Group is the leading provider of general advanced GI
procedures with several state-of-the-art facilities throughout Central Ohio. We
employ a talented team of specialists who perform more GI procedures each year
than any other practice in our area.
We currently have a full-time
opening for a Certified Coder.
Position summary:
Ensure proper coding for all
medical services provided.
Essential key responsibilities:
- Coding Reviews
- Audits medical record
documentation to identify undercoded and upcoded CPT services, documentation
deficiencies, incorrect diagnosis codes for the selected providers as
required per Company’s auditing and monitoring process.
- Conducts additional
coding and billing ad-hoc reviews as deemed appropriate by the Compliance
Department, including but not limited to reviews required by regulatory
agencies, compliance investigations and other management reviews.
- Reports audit findings
to the Audit Supervisor
- Researches, analyzes,
and responds to internal inquiries regarding best coding and billing
practices and regulations.
- Attends medical coding
conferences, workshops, and in-house sessions to receive updated coding
information and changes in coding related regulations.
- Performs miscellaneous
job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have a minimum of
3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and
responsibilities specified.
- Computer Skills:
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and other financial and database
software. High level of comfort with technical solutions.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Certified coding
designation of CCS or CPC Certification required.
Work Hours:
8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday- Friday
