The Outpatient Auditing Specialist will be responsible for applying
the appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT procedural codes and determining
the APR-DRG assignment for accounts across multiple specialties (cardiology,
cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, orthopedics, general medicine and surgery,
pediatrics, obstetrics, newborns, etc.).
Audit accounts as an
advanced coder, auditing ancillary as well as emergency, ambulatory surgery, and
observation. May perform other duties as assigned. Assign correct codes in accordance with
coding guidelines and accepted ethical principles of coding.

For the Outpatient Coder Position available, you should meet the
least 3 years’ Outpatient coding experience (Same Day Surgery,
Observations, ED, Ancillary)
least 5 years’ coding experience from an acute care hospital
- Has a
thorough understanding of the differences between professional coding in a
clinic setting as compared to professional coding in a hospital setting
(outpatient and inpatient),
- Experience with Epic and 3M
experience at a Level I or Level II trauma facility
or AAPC Certified, CPC or CCS preferred
