The Auditor Supervisor position provides comprehensive
advanced supervisory support to the Auditor staff of Pathology Billing
Services, LLC, to enhance the efficient operation of the department. All work generated is expected to be verified
for accuracy. All employees are responsible for supporting the company’s goals
and mission, by following all company policies and procedures.
1. Act as first line supervisor
to all Auditor employees of PBS, LLC.
2.
Review Clin-Path Pathology and Pathology
Specialists of Arizona billing accounts.
Add CPT codes, ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes as necessary, making corrections
as appropriate.
3.
Acts as coordinator for information needed to
accurately audit and code hospital and ancillary service center patient
charges.
4.
Works with management to train staff on
auditing/coding
5.
Ensure that all locations and auditors at PBS
have cross training coverage available.
6.
Complete routine QA for auditing staff.
7.
Works with management to generate required PQRS
reporting.
8.
Provides support to billing staff for appeals
and grievances for denied previously audited claims.
9.
Maintains current knowledge on CCI, LCD, MUE and
CMS billing guidelines and reports changes to management in a written format to
include recommended change in coding process.
10.
Reports any inconsistencies in coding to
management in a written format.
11. Generate routine and
impromptu reporting for the staff as it pertains to managing the workflows ensuring
the integrity of the coding.
12. Verify all workflows are
continuously maintained timely and accurately.
13. Prepare recommendations for
problematic payer trends and present, in writing to the Administrative
Director.
14. Report any known backlogs, in
writing, to the Administrative Director, with a recommendation for resolution.
15. Provide a written report of
outstanding tasks and projects to the Administrative Director on a weekly
basis.
16. Draft office policy and
procedure, to include updates as needed; submit to the Administrative Director
for approval.
17. Coordinate department and
company operating procedures with all other intercompany management to ensure
that all departments correlate for a successful outcome.
18. Remain available to assist
with cross-coverage as needed.
19.
Maintain and support a working knowledge of
HIPAA, government and all applicable compliance standards.
20.
Adheres to all office procedures and guidelines.
Management of staff:
21. Prepare work schedules,
verify hours worked, approve time off requests and monitor PTO schedules for
hourly rate employees.
22. Assist with the interview and
recruitment of PBS, LLC employees.
23. Assist with the annual
evaluation and disciplinary action of PBS, LLC employees.
24. Monitor the staff’s daily
activity and interact with them at a minimum of three times daily.
25. Coach employees and provide
manageable goals when they are not reaching quota in either quality or
quantity.
26. Review and respond to
employee questions, concerns and issues within a 24-48 hour period.
27. Implement training to staff
using current accurate documentation and document training process using
established company status and progress procedures.
28. Report any disruptive
behavior patterns to the Administrative Director with a recommendation of
resolution.
29. Maintain anecdotal notes of
discussions or intermittent occurrences as they pertain to individual employees.
30. Support and enforce policy
and procedure to all staff members.

Five years of advanced billing support experience in a corporate
setting.

Knowledge of business software including word processing, spreadsheets
and application presentations.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to be utilized in
interfacing with all levels of management.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and
diverse priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines as required.

Ability to handle highly confidential information.

Ability to exercise independent judgment.
·
Knowledge of standard office equipment.
·
Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and sit for long periods of
time.
