Delivering quality care starts with ensuring our processes and documentation standards are being met and kept at the highest level possible. This means working behind the scenes ensuring a member-centric approach to care. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical coding in various departments (Inpatient/Outpatient/Acute/Pro-Fee), validating the information in the databases for outcome management and specialty registries, across the entire integrated healthcare system. The purpose of this position is to apply the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to individual patient health information records for data retrieval, analysis and claims processing.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for outpatient hospital accounts
- Monitors assigned work queues to ensure all records are charged/coded in a timely matter
- Generates coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed
- Stays abreast of all changes in coding conventions and coding updates
- Ability to manage significant workload, and to work efficiently under pressure meeting established deadlines with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- Coding certification to include the following: CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, CRC, to be maintained annually
- Ability to identify and code diagnosis codes according to CMS and ICD-10 standards
- Computer proficiency in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word (create, copy, edit, send and save documents) and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, open, edit and save)
- Ability to work any 8-hour shift between 5:00am – 6:00pm
