This position is in the Compliance Department and is
responsible for performing documentation audits in support of Evaluation and
Management Services and surgical procedures and for providing initial and
on-going education to clinicians who bill for professional services, including
physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Functions
Perform
compliance audits for designated pediatric divisions using established audit
protocols.
Create
presentation materials and conduct periodic education for new providers and
other education as indicated by audit results, changes in CPT®
guidelines, Medicaid program guidance, or other identified risk areas.
Research compliance
and coding questions as necessary to support professional services billing.
Maintain
up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes that affect documentation and coding
compliance.
Education/Credentials:
High School
diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
CPC or CCS
coding certification required; additional CPMA certification a plus but not
required.
Job Relevant Experience
Five years’ progressive healthcare coding and auditing
experience including provider education and presentation skills. Surgical
coding and auditing experience preferred.
Job-Related Skills/Competencies
Basic
computer skills and competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
