Purpose

Provide support to the Coding Resource Team in the delivery of an exceptional coding resource product that is accurate, complete and concise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop/implement coding policies for new clients by pushing out coding policy questionnaire for a review and completion
  2. Monitor and analyze internal and external communications to identify inquiries regarding coding policies or coding issues
  3. Research/archive and analyze documented historical data to provide back answers to client in an accurate, timely, appropriate and professional manner
  4. Modify & revise established client coding policy and all pertinent coding fields in Logix CRM (Customer Relationship Management), an electronic data depository tool that houses all client information
  5. Supervise Annual Coding Policy Review project that it is done correctly and timely by direct reports and assist in providing proper responses as client inquiries arise
  6. Update unable to code reasons (UACs) per coding policy update
  7. Attend internal and external client conference calls and be able to take accurate and meaningful notes from the meetings and to convert these notes to coding templates
  8. Develop a training plan and to provide training for Resource Assistants on tasks such as:
  1. Track all coding issues or inquiries in Logix CRM
  2. Ensure all coding fields on LogixGarden are QA to 100% accuracy
  3. Ensure Master Client Grid and other tracking grids are up to date
  4. Maintain Coding Resource library, binders and team manuals are up to date
  1. Assist in other special projects as needed
  2. Adhere to the Code of Conduct and be familiar with all compliance policies and procedures stored in LogixGarden relevant to this position

Qualifications

Education (Degrees, Certificates, Licenses, Etc.)

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  2. Certified in Medical Coding or currently actively pursuing a Medical Coding Certification

Computer Skills

Prior word processing, spreadsheet and internet software experience including proficiency with MS Excel and MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word required.

Experience

  1. 2 or more years in administrative-lead role
  2. Prior experiences in medical/clinical setting required

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  1. Must be organized and be able to prioritize between multiple tasks or projects
  2. Ability to add, to subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; this ability will encompass using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  3. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
  5. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  6. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in a business manner
  7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  8. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  9. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  10. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, use hands, talk, hear and occasionally walk and reach with hands or arms
