This
Revenue Cycle Coordinator (Anesthesiology) within the Department of
Anesthesiology will support the Director of Finance & Administration (DFA),
Pediatric Division Administrator, Adult Clinical Manager, clinical Vice Chairs,
and Medical Directors in respect to the activities of the clinical and revenue
cycle operations of the Department. The position will report directly to the Adult
Clinical Manager and indirectly to the Pediatric Division Administrator. The
position will effectively communicate with department faculty and
administration regarding billing, coding, collection and DOS/DOP issues, and
concerns related to the department. This individual will work with CU Medicine,
University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO), and
other staff on all billing and reimbursement issues. Additional
responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinating the revenue cycle, productivity and pertinent
quality/reporting metrics for the Department of Anesthesiology to include the
creation and distribution of monthly reports to department leadership, division
leadership and individual faculty members.

Completing and/or coordinating analysis with CU Medicine, ARR
Managers, and Coding Services Managers to identify areas of opportunities and
improvements in areas of service delivery, charge capture, coding, billing,
denials/appeals, and reimbursement.
·
Managing one-time projects within the Department of Anesthesiology
which could include coordination with affiliated partners (i.e., CHCO, UCH,
SOM, VA, or DHHA) regarding items such as EPIC involvement, clinic flow, or new
service development.

Providing education to Department faculty regarding coding, EPIC
templating, etc.
Work
Model:
The Department of Anesthesiology’s administrative staff currently
operates in a hybrid work model. Staff are expected to work in-office at least
three days/week and remotely two days/week. Newly hired staff may be required
to work/train in-office four to five days/week for several months until the
supervisor determines that training is complete.
Minimum Qualifications:
A
bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, or
a directly related field from an accredited institution and two years of
professional level experience in medical revenue cycle coding, billing, and/or
accounts receivable.
Substitution:
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience
may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
·
3
or more years of financial experience, including financial reporting and/or
revenue cycle in an academic medical or health care facility
·
Certified
Professional Coding (CPC) Certification preferred
·
Demonstrated
experience with University and CU Medicine (formerly UPI) financial systems.
·
Demonstrated
experience and knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding practices.
·
Experience
with billing systems (GE/CB) and Electronic medical records such as EPIC
·
Anesthesia
billing experience
Competencies:
- Ability
to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding
customer service skills.
- Demonstrated
commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Extensive
knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- In-depth
knowledge of physician professional services coding and billing practices.
- Demonstrated
experience in monitoring AR and working claims denials.
Salary
and Benefits:
The salary
range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at
$48,137 - $67,391.
The salary
of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of
factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education,
specialty and training.
The above
salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith
and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of
posting.
This
position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
