DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Revenue Integrity department provides many services to our multi-hospital and medical group organization focusing on the patient financial experience along the entire continuum of care. Our goal is to deliver a delightful, transparent and seamless experience to our patients and customers that captures and collects the revenue earned by St. Charles Health System (SCHS) in a quality, efficient and timely manner. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Supervisor of Revenue Integrity supports the Revenue Integrity Department with leadership and delivery of high quality services related to charge capture and chargemaster services for St. Charles Health System. This role provides direct oversight and support to the teams across Revenue Integrity and is responsible for meeting defined metrics and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, timeliness and compliance in all activities performed. The Supervisor works with departments across the health system, including both the medical group and hospital clinical areas, to implement and support initiatives related to charging, charge reconciliation and compliance with policy and regulatory guidance to maintain the integrity of our pricing and charging structure.

As part of this position, the Supervisor will be responsible for some or all the following: timekeeping; caregiver check-ins; policy creation and maintenance; optimization, process improvement and workflows including some project management, implementation, and development of training/educational materials and standard work; analyzing and tracking data related to RI metrics and goals; supporting SCHS in identifying and implementing correct charge capture processes to capture all appropriate billable services; vendor management support.

This position directly manages caregivers on Revenue Integrity Team.


Maintains efficient processes and ensures caregiver performance is compliant with revenue cycle and revenue integrity best practices, SCHS policies and in compliance with all payer and regulatory agency requirements.

Creates and updates work instructions, policies and procedures applicable to RI functions and workflows. Communicates and trains department staff members in adherence to all applicable policies and instructions.

Through the analysis of data and reports, monitors quality and productivity of staff ensuring essential functions are delivered timely and our key performance indicators and goals are achieved consistently.

Leads and/or participates in Lean process improvement projects. Works with internal and external customers to improve processes, increase accuracy, create efficiencies, and maximize available technology to achieve department performance and goals.

Supervises the daily operations of chargemaster and charge capture functions in the RI department in conjunction with team leads & manager.

Monitors, audits and provides feedback and training on the accuracy of charge capture and the associated charge capture processes across the health system. This includes implementation of new charges, charging methodologies, and projects (regulatory, organizational, and departmental) that impact charging/charges.

Responsible for supporting budget development, regular monitoring, accountability and meeting all operational targets for all areas within span of control.

Hires, directs, coaches and monitors the performance of all direct reports, to develop and maintain a high performance team that meets organizational and department goals.

Monitors and ensure all direct reports are current with compliance and safety requirements. Implements and manages all organizational safety directives and goals.

Provides and oversees team’s delivery of customer service in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.

Collaborates with teams to review processes and identify/implement opportunities for improvements, applying Value Improvement Practice concepts and tools.

Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects.

Required: Associate’s Degree in related field.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field.


Required: RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CHRI or CPMA.   

Preferred: N/A 


Required: Minimum three (3) years of related experience in chargemaster and or charge capture.

Preferred: Leadership experience preferred.


Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
